I know lately Shadowville.com's been churning pretty slow. This is attributed to the influx of traffic, particularly to the forums. The forums, actually, eat up more resources and processing power than playing beats. Since I know it is frustrating to deal with a slow site, I have decided that it is time for another server upgrade. During this week, you may experience more lag than usual, this is because we are slowly transferring nearly 200 gigabytes worth of data over to the new server without entirely crashing or overloading this old server. 

The new server, however, comes with a price. Even though it will be blazing fast, the monthly fee costs two times more than this current one. We will also be paying for full server management to maintain the new server's health and security. What does this all mean? It means we have added some text-based ads into the first post of each forum thread. This will slightly offset the increased costs of running this new server. I can't ask you click on the ads due to advertising policy, but just know that the ads are there in order to support the improved performance of the site.

The server move is expected to be completed by the end of this coming weekend.

Current server config: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, 2 GB RAM, 180 GB Hard Drive IDE single, 50 Mbps port

New server config: Intel Xeon 5430, 8 GB RAM, 4×500 GB SATA Hard Drives RAID10 configured, 1 Gbps port

The server should be about 6x faster, and handle more than 4x the current traffic without any hiccups or lag. Thanks for everyone's patience.
