I hate to get off topic, so apologies to Zinn and Mo,

but Asher Roth is f**kin garbage, just an overrated emcee appealing to old school Eminem fans who see the same type of flow they saw back when Em first came out. Real s**t, stop foolin yourselves, he didn't bring s**t to hip-hop but a frat boy theme song. Dude got wrecked by Copywrite, end of story, he'll never be Eminem.

Word, I hate to get off topic too, but…

Why are you comparing him to a person that cannot be compared to? I know why Laugh

Because he's white Surprised

“He'll never be Em! Never, never never never never never!!”

Well, um…considering EMINEM is one of the best to ever rock a mic…it's kind of, whats the word? UNFAIR, for you to see another white rapper, who happens to sound similar to EMINEM, and immediately think, “Drats! He's trying to take Ems place! Fuck this guy, wheres the pitchforks??”

And not even give dude a chance to establish himself as his own artist…you said all he's brought to the table is a frat boy party song? Buddy, that's one single….a single that he didn't even think would be popular, so in a way the song is overrated, but that's not the point…the point is that I copped Asleep In The Bread Aisle and found the purest hip-hop album to touch shelves in YEARS. Dude straight took old school stylings and mixed it with our new school ways to create the PERFECT vibe. Anyone can relate to that album because of how diverse the topics are. Anyways, before I post a lot a say a little, you need to check out this track:

Listen to how he flows the first song as if he's actually reading from a book or poem, making the emphasis on certain words match the situation he's depicting, and how dope his wordplay is on the second. If you say he's ANYTHING like EMINEM after hearing those two, then you are…stupid lol.

Okay, i was really feelin Asher with the greenhouse effect mixtape. but asleep in the bread aisle? i'll bump tracks 1 - 4 and “as i em” and thats it. but even then its the beat and melodic hook, he has a nice flow..but listen to what this guy is saying..makes 0 sense. i thought “or maybe its just me” i looked for some reviews on it..and many others felt the same

hiphopdx.com that gave this guy so much praise bashed the album, i didn't think it was as bad as they said, but it's decent, specially with the lack of decent mainstream music out.

But don't pump him up, lyrically? he can flow, but thats as far as it goes for now, and before i even seen he was white (back with the mixtape) i thought it was Eminem coming back under a different persona. (like 2pac and makaveli) But he doesn't have the same style as Em so i don't even compare him. and its not that he's white, sure thats the easiest accusation to make, but neh. its just his voice. Copywrite is white, Yak Ballz is white, Country Boi and Playboy and C2H are white..never once compared them to Eminem bc they don't sound like it. so it goes beyond complexion.

i'd give ABA a 6/10, 7/10 if i'm having a good day. as much hype as this guy was getting on the net…he failed to meet my expectations

but the tracks u posted are sick..problem is, there are very few songs where he stays on topic and doesn't say some random crap..even his spoken words are dope..he has mad potential and skill..but i think he slacked on the majority of the album..sour patch kids? WTF???

Before you head out like a newborn….

sour patch kids? WTF???

many people crying, and be dyin, they be dining in the hours, drinking wine with their wives like everything is fine
denying that they fightin for the their lives, every night to survive since the beginning of time
aye-yai-yai
cant believe the evil that feeds off this so called American dream
lies in the seat make all the Americans seem like blood-sucking money hungry fiends
but money doesn't mean
a damn thing to me
i just want to be
i want to be free
but unfortunately a fortune is what you need
cause the fortune 500s run the country
its one company
if your not a company
would you mind grabbing me a cup of tea?
if we go hungry, in our own country
i wonder whats its like living in Hungry

I think the song is great….unfortunately and “fortune is what you need?” Idk, I get what you're saying though. Don't forget the Fallin song though…

Is simple and over stated “poor get poorer/rich get richer”…ummm ok, and? for songs with such meaning, i think he should've pulled out a little more complexity, its not like he's not a complex rapper, if i thought he was uncapable of doing such then  i would just be like..eh, thats not what he does. or maybe its the delivery he presents it with that does that..reading the lyrics seems better than actually listening to the song

Word, I agree, he does that a lot on the album, like “Traded in my cell phone for a new pager…??” lol.

Edit: Your opponent might not be feeling very battle savvy right now lol.

Either that or you're not listening properly. Everyone who I've ever showed Zinn to has said the same thing: “He's sick, but he sounds like lil wayne,” I don't knock him for it(one time I did lol) but it is what it is.

You need to come up with a story as epic as that scenario about a battle between you and him lol. When did you even type all that? What thread was it? Oh well, I'm signing off.
