Nice song John, The lyrics were on point, and it had good melody in the delivery, the song to me sounds good
my only critiques would be mix wise: i am not a fan of much reverb at all in hip hop, and it sounds to me on the mix your vocals are kinda back from the beat, like the reverbs pushing your voice back, I like the vocals compressed right up front. That is a personal opinion, if you like the sound, thats whats important
Also as for delivery although i think it did sound good, this ill sound funny, but it almost makes me tired and out of breath hearing the way your saying the words lol, it sounds like your keeping your diaphragm really tight and closed, maybe on your next track try to push your stomach outward and really use your diaphragm and strengthen your voice.. i dunno exactly how to explain that one..

Still wasnt feeling this mix i still think the vocals need to come up a lil more and match the beat JJ’s beat bang! and your adlibs at times are a bit too loud they drown out your last word, hook is perfect i think and i duno second sounded alot more brought up in places then dips again. This is a banga tho for real this the type of Christian stuff i wanna bring to the people. yeah i duno verses still seem a lil flat.
What are you listening to on this? I’m not getting your views. If anything the vocals seem a touch loud on the verses.

I generally use a small plate, very subtle. This song, however, I can hear the “plate” on this mix.
You know…. I’ve never heard anybody say that about my diaphragm, but you are absolutely right. I do, do this. I like my breathy tone. I like the rasp, but you are right in saying that. I’ll keep that opinion in mind moving forward.

WOW!!
I’m sure others on the forums would disagree with you, and I’m not even sure I can agree with you on that statement. However, those are some very kind words. This was my first song in a long time. I believe you just gave me the boost/motivation/inspiration I needed to jump back in full force. I really appreciate it man. It means a lot coming from you.

this track has so much potential, every part about it is catchy and really draws you in, that hook is perfect for the track too. you never slip up on the flow and i always liked your delivery. the only thing holding this back is the mix, and i seen you said you were working on it. to me it sounds empty, i think the verses would get a lot of help from recording a couple more main tracks and panning them out and i think the hook could definitely be helped out if you panned the vocals left and right instead of keeping it centered, it kind of makes it blend in to the verses and not pop like it should. aside from the mix though you have a real nice track with a lot replay value. rtf if you get around to it http://www.shadowville.com/boa…..rm-squared

I’m a send this last mix out to a few people for some second opinions. I’m proud of this last one I got thru with. I’ll catch your song tomorrow. No doubt.

I’m looking for simple ideas on scenes, locations, footage, props, etc. if you’re interested in helping, then pm me on here or email johngeemusic@yahoo.com. Thanks again everybody.
