Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has defended the Foxes’ recruitment policy as the champions battle relegation.

Mendy has not played since August after suffering an ankle injury while Musa has started just five times in the league and only Slimani, with five goals in 10 games, has made an impact.


Summer signing Ron-Robert Zieler has replaced the injured Kasper Schmeichel in goal on two separate occasions and has kept just one clean sheet, conceding 16 goals in eight games.
