Can’t apologize for my ancestors
Can’t unlock chains from the oppressors
Save those free at the bottom of the sea
Or the family tree burnt third degree
Ropes around necks defined a generation
Generational wealth made thru plantations
Disinformation land of condemnation
Slavery then to the slavery of incarceration
As the CIA works with James Earl Ray
Malcom to Hampton to MLK
A voice to loud inciting a crowd
Assassinate separate those to proud
Manipulation, organize the chaos
Intimidation, living in a seance
That strange fruit in them poplar trees
Independence swings in that southern breeze

With these words I intend to teach to offend
To the ones who pretend close yours eyes an ascend
Free you of your sins let me die for you again
Crucify the mind to let the words rise within

A Skin color, against the sun protects
That melanin to the mind affects
As Sun rays reflect a hate infects
Ignorance connects lives effect
Segregate and force to projects
When suburbs select Bank loans reject
When blacks move in the money moves out
Businesses too and the roads they re-route
For profit prisons with quotas meet
CIA bringing crack to the street
Write the laws to punish the minority
Break up the families and Lose the authority
Capitalize the disenfranchised
Take representation and compromise
Don’t act surprised when history isn’t as revered
Whitewash the past, a past filled with fear

With these words I intend to teach to offend
To the ones who pretend close yours eyes an ascend
Free you of your sins let me die for you again
Crucify the mind to let the words rise within

As slave patrol becomes our police
To keep peace blood on Tulsa streets
That blackwall street covered with black bodies
Blood on the leaves, blood in the lobbies
White terrorism dropping bombs from the sky
All over a lie bodies had to die
As the KKK runs law enforcement
Rosewood to Atlanta to presidential endorsements
Former slaves fighting for better pay
Murdered on railroad tracks and not sentence gave
No conscious to what was accomplished
Murderer rewarded with a seat on congress
Sundown towns to the red summer
To the Wilmington insurrection all over a color
In honor of emmit til and may his image feel
A history reveal and be thankful it’s just a kneel
