agreed, the load of promotion you get with this not to mention its goign to be your voice regardless of what clips they take out of it, you get the exposure for it. so take it or leave it, and in all fairness, Shadowville Productions providing the beats for free to give you the opportunity to win a large amount of prizes is a big deal. I wouldn't mind they owning half the material whether i win or not, simply put, i have a chance of winning, and if i dont win i doubt they'd use my shit anyway LOL but if they do, then yea thats fuckin cool

I try to enlighten people and get accussed of stirring controversy? Bottom line, like dude said before, if the prizes and exposure outweigh your content, then enter. You dont have exclusive rights to the beat anyway, so you cant profit off of it regardless of how great the song is, but shadowville can. I speak from a songwriters perspective and rights are the only thing we value(publishing, copyright, licensing, etc…), so its what YOU make of it. For someone like myself, rather then earning the prizes in this contest I would prefer the exclusive rights to the beat that I use in the entry. If shadowville would agree to that, I'd enter. Otherwise, personally, iits not worth it for me.
