Just thought I'd mention at this time.
There has been a lot of good artists that have lurked the halls of Shadowville over the years, but I want to encourage you up-n-coming artists to expand as much as possible. Shadowville should be a place for reviews from fellow artists, critiques from other artists, help with producing/rapping/engineering artists, but it should not be the ONLY place you upload your mixtape/album/songs to. There are hundreds of sites out there- at least upload your material on there. Because the majority of those “other” sites are filled with more fans than artists. This is an artist community. Mixtape Factory is an artist community with some fans. Datpiff is an artist community with some fans. Granted they don't have many good “fan” sites for music and underground artists out there, but you need to find a way to reach the fans you are trying to market to. I. E. Facebook, Twitter, your own site, etc. Reverb Nation in features they offer for Facebook are fantastic. Seemingly turning Facebook into a better artist site to reach more fans than myspace! I say all of this because a lot of these songs mentioned were indeed dope and deserve the credit that sometimes they didn't receive because of how close-minded some of us have been in the past (myself included).
Word. Perhaps a thread of sites like this would be beneficial, I know Alex posted a few sites way back when but It could really help.
