Alright, I watched the Hip-Hop awards on BET a couple days ago and well to be frank I am saddened by the new artists today. In the cyphers I heard some wicked rappers, very, very, very talented up and comers such as Doughboy(Ice Cubes son) who is very talented on the mic. J Cole shows signs of a great future in my opinion. Then i heard some others but I dont remember their names as their was alot of talented rappers.

Then I seen Royce Da “5'9″ or whatever the hell his name is, and its funny because I only remember him based on the beef he and Em had. Kuniva was pretty ill in the cyphers.

But the acts for the award show were ALL wack except for J Coles and Shock Gs(which surprised me, a good surprise)

J Cole is an excellent rapper who doesnt rap about ignorant and pointless junk like the majority of the games current up and comers. Roscoe Dash=LAME. Soulja Boy= WHO IS HE? I mean one week he's being a gangster with 50 Cent on the track “Mean Mug”, then next he's singing love songs. Wacka Flocka= Lame.

Wiz Khaflia or however you spell it was decent n the cyphers too, but thats just freestylin.

The Best rapping I saw was in the cypher with Rev Run and his kids, and Ice Cube and his kids. They put it down good.

But I think half of hip-hop isn't what it should be?

haha, i think you got a very stong point here bro, and this that soon the hip hop/ rap industry will start to boom with real artists, it just gonna take abit of patients. right now its all about money, becuase of illigal downloads they need to make it back somehow, so they just pick up random s**t artists who they know will say yes, and also have a great image. Money is the main factor in this situation, so until that factor is eliminated, artists such as ourselves will just have to do it the old school way. “Struggle to the top”, and im sure thats what we are all gonna do.

sorry for the whole obamma talk lolWink

the industry will always be filled with what sells. but that only represents about 1% of the music available and the music out there. with the internet the way it is, it's super hard to make anything without a strong business sense. that means making music that appeals, not just being “real”. if you want real, look into underground hip hop.

This isn’t underground. No, this is deeper then that. This is below the underground. This is music from hell.

I agree man, I seen some brilliant rhymers on the cyphers. I liked it. Its been awhile since I was impressed by a new rapper. I was impressed with 50 Cent and I still like half his stuff, like his new joint “They Burned Me”… He puts real feelings and emotion into that track, I loved it.

Kinda sad when that Nikki Manaij or however you spell it wins most the big awards

Theres too much politics to the award shows. You can tell based on who won what. When Nikki beats Eminem you know something is wrong with raps picture.

I'd like to protest what you said Chris… There's still some real talk rap that sells. Ice Cube is the biggest proof. He may not go platinum but he sells pretty good and has ALWAYS stayed true to his self. He doesnt rhyme all about girls and money.

When he rhymes you hear the real stuff, and theres still a big enough audience for him to attract and he does. Like his album I am the west.

well plenty of artists keep it real in the mainstream if thats the case. kid cudi, lupe, kanye, wale, BOB, etc.

This isn’t underground. No, this is deeper then that. This is below the underground. This is music from hell.

listen to their albums before saying whether or not they're real. and because you don't like them doesn't make them less real lol.
