Mos def man. If I ever neep more s**t on any topics of philosophy, economy, or anything along those lines, you're in mind. Ad you might know this. Why are most self proclaimed “Philosophers” against capitalism? I don't see communism working lol

Because capitialism means the inherent suffering of about 75%+ of the population as the economic classes polarize: the rich get richer and poor get poorer while the middle class picks up the most expenses with the least benefits (no welfare or food stamps for the middle class). Basically, if you're for f**king people from the start, vote capitalism.

That's partly it. Also, much of political philosophy deals with “what ought to be” as opposed to “what is” or “what works”. In other words, political philosophers tend to be idealists, focusing on forming a utopian model for society, and sometimes one must ignore practicality in such pursuits. Keep in mind though, philosophy is a very deep subject. You'll find many philosophers on either end of the capitalist-socialist spectrum, and everything in between.

And sitting on both sides of the fence is just fine for an informative essay. In fact, it's necessary; sometimes writing with a biased viewpoint is an academic faux pas. On the other hand, if your assignment was to write an argumentative essay, you'll need to argue either for or against capitalism as best you can. You'll still use the other side's logic as grounds for a counter-argument, but always with respect to your own contentions.
