Insurance when moving between states

This weekend will be my fourth trip between the states, the first two went very, very well, the last one not so much. My question is about insurance, and are there any mistakes that I haven’t had the “joy” to discover so far?
I wrote back in 2019 that Beltmann Movers in Dallas sold me $ 95k worth of insurance, but I was given the full terms of T&C insurance-after everything was on the truck, not before. This means that nothing we packed was covered by them, which basically means that the extra $ 95,000 in insurance is not needed as they are inapplicable. It didn’t make sense for me to ask for T&C before moving. It also turned out that they had inflated the price of my £ 2,900 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom flat to almost £ 7,000. So I paid almost $ 4,800, the buyer beware. I hope this pain will help someone else. Be that as it may, this is in the past and lessons learned. This time I didn’t sign up for any insurance provided by the movers, as we pack most of the things ourselves. I’ll call our insurance company tomorrow to see if they can add coverage. The question is, are there any hidden Goths that I didn’t recognize by fire and judgment?

Next time, solidify the terms of your contract and get everything in writing. There are different types of moving contracts, and you want to be sure you understand the terms completely. For example, make sure you know the answers to the following questions.
Is the price firm? How are overages handled? When is payment due? Also, make sure you go over their insurance policy. What does it cover? How much does it cover? Learn about the difference between full replacement value and other no-cost options that may not include replacement value.
Pick the insurance that you’re comfortable with and pay more for extra protection if you own very valuable items…Read up more.

Very interesting! Yes, you need moving insurance. You should ask your removal company about their insurance policies. Usually, they cover accidental damage or loss if you are using a Discount Moving Services. Good luck next time!
