Roma boss Jose Mourinho was angry at the team’s performance and annoyed with the referee after the 3-1 loss to AC Milan at the San Siro.
Roma trailed 2-0 in the first 15 minutes of the first half. Even more stifling, two defenders Rick Karsdorp and Gianluca Mancini were sent off before the game ended.
Milan’s third goal was scored by Rafael Leao after receiving a pass from a senior player who played as a substitute for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mourinho, apart from being disappointed with Roma’s performance, was also the field officials, who awarded Milan two penalties.
The first was converted into a goal by Olivier Giroud, while the second Ibrahimovic’s penalty was saved by goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
“The quality of his performances [Roma] is not good,” said Mourinho. “We gave the ball away easily, our performance level was very low.
“But if we talk about our mistakes then we also need to talk about the referee and VAR. I haven’t seen a single picture where you can clearly see that one [penalty] awarded to Milan in the first half was a penalty. I can not see that.
