Your basic mic… Dynamic, and not Condenser, needs to phantom power because as it picks up sound, the motion of its internal magnet creates enough of a signal to be relayed to the interface…
A Condenser, is typically designed in a fashion that it filters the incoming sound, and thus you need to boost the signal going in so that it can make it back…
what you'll need is, either a phantom box… or a interface with phantom power… yes, most mixers have phantom power, but its not nessesary, and im sick of these people thinking a mixer is gonna make em sound so much better
