I don't know what I want in life.

What is it? We're all going to die eventually…so why work towards nothing? Why covet things that others may have and aspire to achieve greatness when eventually you will come across mortality and sink in soil?

Work, for some, is the only thing which keeps a man from insanity. But I think you missed my point. Happiness doesn't come from obtaining objects of desire. I would agree with Schopenhauer and Buddha and say that it's actually detachment from these desires that ends suffering. But one must make a living; one must eat. It may even be as simple as tending a small field of crops and living sustainably in nature. Or playing professional sports, if it suits you. You don't have to be great, but you should strive to attain true happiness. That is the goal of life. Yes, we all die. But if our time here is spent in vain, at least it should be as painless as possible. Minimize suffering, expand awareness, increase understanding.

WORD!!  What Dio said is REAL s**t..  I think alot of us feel like we dont have a place in life..  I know I do..  I was clinicly dead in a car accident a few years back and it f**ked me out of my education and my future..  I was depressed for a long time because of this and the thing that kept me sane was music..  I know its the reason I'm still alive..  I believe we're all here for a reason however mundane it may be..  We have a purpose in life and a reason for being..  Even if we never find it out, its there..  We just have to do what makes us happy and live every day like it could be our last..  Life is fragile and over quick so dont sweat the small s**t..  In the end things will work out..  Basicly, just keep yah head up!

Definitely back everything Diogenes said. It can seem scary at first to go against them, especially if you depend on them for stuff like school tuition, shelter, food…the essentials basically…but most of the time their threats are empty. If you're in high school they can't legally throw you out, and if they're paying for college you may just have to go to community college and get a job, but if you feel you're sacrificing too much of yourself to please them, you have to get out from under them or they'll destroy you from the inside.

Or just shut up

your pressures of the youth are nothing compared to what most people face

i.e. gangs, drugs, guns, threats, getting food, surviving on a day to day basis

plus a lot more. Point is, suck it up and deal with it.

Pressures of the youth? Forreal?

How about pressures of being a 40 year old man most recently losing his job thanks to this terrible economy. Or finding out you have been diagnosed with a disease which cannot be cured.

chill out.

lol….you're posts seem to always amuse me

I just tell people what my dad would tell me.

I learned Santa Clause wasn't real the day OF christmas. I was excited as s**t, I was like 4, he came out, looked at me and say “Damnit, your mom put that s**t there, Santa Clause isn't f**king real!”

And ever since then tough love.

Somewhere near a bunch of beavers….

everyones got their own kind of pressure, not everyone lives in “gang filled hoods” and are facing life or death situations-so just because someone doesnt live in an area where its either their gona get mugged for going out durin the day or shot durin the night….everyones got pressures and adversities that they gotta face….you cant measure the human emotion - its impossible and limitless, what may be severe pressure for one person can be very little for someone else, doesnt make the other weak, just shows how stress is handled differently, and what problems people face are different from each other,

in anycase, good luck to ya Al, hope s**t turns out for the better, or how you want it to turn out.
