If you have a computer with a decent CPU, and enough RAM, I would go with Adobe Audition 3… that's my prefrence… but you should also look into condenser mics if you don't have one… Slant proved not too long ago, that you don't have to have an expensive one to do the job… you could probably pick up one in the $50-75 dollar price range, and then get you a small board with phantom voltage like I have… my s**t isn't the best but it does the job… like I've said before, I have an M-Box mini with Protools and I don't even use that s**t anymore…
