“What does it mean that you have to give written credit to the producer please answew back”

Ridik Cypher responds:

What it means: You MUST AT ALL TIMES GIVE CREDIT TO THE PRODUCERS OF SHADOWVILLE.COM ON ANY COMPOSTIONS YOU MAKE WITH THERE ORIGINAL 100% QUALITY BEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11114

Its a lot easier than it sounds, and this way you wont get sued by nasty lawyers who want nothing more than to suck you dry of your success from the songs you make. All you have to do is send a lengthy and intelligently worded e-mail to each producer.  The e-mail shoud:

1. Explaining exactly how and in what ways you intend to use all derivates of the composition, otherwise known as “THE BEAT.”

2. Sending all the lyrics that accompany the composition, and full audio files where possible.

3. Dont forgetting to actually give them credits on the letter, a simple “yo homie, yo beats iz hype, dis changed my life on da reel” will do fine.

4. If all else failing, eat hamster shit from bowl on youtube, that will probably get you more attention than rapping ever can.

Good luck homie! Remember, keeping it real at all times. NO deviation!!!!!!!!!!!

Spazzin Lalo responds back : “thanks”

wtf? Confused

Now dude says” What if aint got a way to reach the producer at couldnt i just give a shout out to him on the track????”

So I respond:

“Giving shout outs on the track is acceptable if:

You shout out the name of the producer and shadowville.com at the end of every verse and chorus(try to make it sound like you really mean it. I know you most likely dont, but hey, thats how hip-hop works right? Lots of yelling and grunting about stuff. Be like “yeah boy, 2deep on da beat bitches, SVP FAMILY ALL DAY WHA WHA?!!!” shit like that.

Remember, a little honesty goes  a long way, and its the EFFORT THAT COUNTS!!!”

I dont know guys am I getting this right? I mean its a really difficult area. The rules are so confusing, and everybody cares about them so much. I wouldn't want to put a poor young chap in a predicament. Any thoughts?

i believe all you truly have to do is include credits where advertised via online or demo disc ex. (artist name - song name (produced by “said producer”).. if you plan on profiting off said tunes, then you have to purchase a lease.. that's the only way lawyers would get involved.. if it's even worth the money.. no one's going to sue someone for making a couple hundred off non-leased beats.. it's just the principal..

i don't think it's necessary to involve the producer if you're not going to buy a lease.. unless you want said producer to hear the track..
