U.S. President Joe Biden’s organization on Friday questioned claims that an impending visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Saudi Arabia flags America’s winding down impact in the Center East, demanding that the U.S. is “staying put.”

Tim Lenderking, U.S. exceptional emissary for Yemen, said that conciliatory visits by other worldwide powers were normal, yet said that the U.S. had declared its obligation to the district following a visit by Biden in July.

“The significant message that the president brought to the area is that the US is staying put,” Lenderking told CNBC’s Hadley Bet.
Reports arose Thursday that Xi is to show up in Saudi Arabia one week from now for a gathering with Crown Ruler Mohammed container Salman — the Chinese head’s most memorable authority unfamiliar visit beginning around 2020 — as Beijing and Riyadh look to merge ties. China’s Unfamiliar Service on Thursday neither affirmed nor denied the reports.
