With Moon Knight officially a part of the MCU, a fanmade concept poster compiles several other existing Marvel heroes into the Midnight Sons

Thanks to a new concept poster, Midnight Sons fans are one step closer to realizing what the team could look like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel’s Phase Four has made the drastic leap of introducing some of the brand’s more niche characters and ideas into the fold, including heroes with supernatural connections like Moon Knight, and exploring creative formats in WandaVision and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Some of these characters generally operate in the shadows but occasionally align with the Avengers and become embroiled in pivotal storyline events, making their existence in the MCU necessary.

With the Multiverse kicking into full gear, magic and the weirder elements of Marvel’s comic material get the chance to shine. Even if characters like Blade and Morbius don’t get the spotlight in a mainline Avengers picture, the expansion of Marvel’s scope within its universe and the forceful entry of supernatural creatures allow those characters to save the day when Captain America and company aren’t around. In the comics, Doctor Strange forms the Midnight Sons by bringing together several Marvel characters with ties to the occult to defeat Lilith, and heroes like Moon Knight, Iron Fist, and Werewolf by Night join the team later on.

Now that a few of the more well-known members of the Midnight Sons are officially part of the MCU, speculation about the team’s potential on-screen alliance is swirling. Digital artist agtdesign encapsulates this desire with an exciting fan poster, showcasing some of the group’s prominent members by way of their live-action counterparts. The poster includes Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, Blade, Ghost Rider, Morbius, the Punisher, and Scarlet Witch. Check out the artwork below:

While it is a cool poster, the artist takes a couple of liberties with the team’s composition compared to historical comics membership. Like developer Firaxis Games’ Midnight Suns, which features Wolverine, Iron Man, and other characters as honorary Midnight Sons aiding the core group, agtdesign sets Scarlet Witch and Punisher as apparent members of the team, despite never having joined. An unmade Midnight Sons limited series by Greg Smallwood did show Frank Castle’s Punisher on the cover as a part of the group, but the Scarlet Witch could merely be here because of her magical abilities and ties to Strange.

Whether or not a Midnight Sons movie or series ever gets made rests solely on the shoulders of Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, but this fan poster is a good sign that people are at least interested in the property. And while the collapse of DC’s live-action Justice League Dark may have been a blow to fans of edgier superhero content, Marvel appears to want to invest in those elements by putting their weight behind titles like Moon Knight. Even the Disney+ show’s star, Oscar Isaac, is interested in a Midnight Sons team-up one day. While there are plenty of characters to choose from — and still introduce into the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the Midnight Sons could be arriving sooner rather than later if the seven badass heroes in this concept poster have any bearing on the matter.
