Ok, so i use Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and i have Adobe Audition 3.0. Ive been recording and gradually adding effects and taking them out and getting to almost where i want to be with my quality. BUT, i have noticed my “S's”, now i noise reduct,(cust settings) Amp>center wave, Amp>3-6dB, custom reverb, i add a FFT Filter Custom one, helps for cleaness of my vocals what ive made, FFT filter again but this time i add the De-Esser, then i add graphic eq Spit Clear 2000hz<(what is that anyway?),, then parametric eq (Mackie Boost Mid or smthn)… I use a CAD GXL 2400 Condenser Mic(Cardioid)… basically how to make that high essing go away thanks so much.. peace and love. ohh and that is all for my verses,, i use dif stuff for my ad libs and doubles, but also ,, plz help me out on main vocals for a verse AND a hook plzz, since essing comes alot from singing and stuff.

What do you use for a preamp?(if you use some sort of mixer, you can adjust the highs until you get the right sound) and do you use a pop filter? (probably do, just making sure)…

After reading a little of the Tapco owners manual… I would suggest turning down the input volume some and move your pop filter back 3-4 inches because you might be getting to much gain when recording and picking up the highs… You can always raise the volume later if it is low to the beat… if this doesn't work just keep adjust the input volume, and step back from the mic until you get the right sound… I don't know of any other ways to explain it from this stand point… if I was there with you, I could probably figure it out… hope this helps a little bit bro…

ight ill def try,, but theres a “de-esser” effect, theres 3 or 4 in dynamics processing, and one in FFT Filter, they say they aren't true de-essers, the true ones are vst plug-ins evr hear of smthn like tht?

Yeah… I honestly don't get into those much… I use compressors… such as I used use the Multiband Compressor quite a bit on Audition 2… once I was done with a mix then up them to myspace or whatever… but I let the person mastering my music deal with the tweaking on everything else before I press it…

Not that im a big fan of throwing money at problems… but you sure sound serious… to simplify it id really suggest that maybe you move on to Pro-Tools, Live, Logic, or FL Studio… they all have much simpler mixing interfaces… just a tip

Actually Pro-Tools doesn't have a more simple interface, and the same goes for FL… I've used all three… And in order to use Pro-Tools he would need an M-Box unit, which I don't know if he has the money to spend right now… he really should just stick to what he has and knows… unless it's a MAJOR problem…
