Well, betting is not bad at all, but you should understand, that betting is gambling stuff and so closely related to excitement, so may lose a lot on it. But if you are ready to spend some time on analyzing future matches and odds on it, I would rather advise you on betting on eSports now, as it grows and there are a lot of unexperienced bookmakers and other betters. Odds are so sweet there!

Totally agree with your opinion. It is not like it was in 2008, but still, you have a great opportunity to raise some money for bookmakers, like ggbet and have some fun on betting, as eSports it is firstly about fun and only then about money!
